Your questions, our answers
Everything you need to know before starting an industrial textile project with Baudchon. A question not covered here? Our design office replies within 48h.
Which industrial sectors do you serve?
Baudchon supplies technical textile components to four main sectors: bedding and furnishing (mattresses, bed bases, upholstered furniture), medical and healthcare (medical textiles, hygiene, protection), luxury and premium (haute couture, prestige hospitality, leather goods) and technical protection (professional clothing, industrial equipment).
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
The MOQ varies according to product complexity, material and format. For standardised products it can start at a few hundred units; for complex bespoke work it is specified case by case by our design office during project analysis.
What are your average production lead times?
Lead times depend on the type of work: 2 to 4 weeks for series production from an existing reference, 4 to 8 weeks for bespoke development including sampling and validation. Our design office provides a precise schedule as soon as the brief is analysed.
Do you offer samples before series production?
Yes, as standard. We produce samples and prototypes for validation before the industrial launch. This step is part of our standard process and lets us adjust the material, pattern, finish or dimensions before committing the run.
Do you work only in France or also internationally?
Our manufacturing is 100% French (Clary, Hauts-de-France, certified France Terre Textile and Made in France). We deliver in France and throughout Europe, and support export projects depending on the volumes and the nature of the product.
How does a textile project unfold at Baudchon?
In four steps:
- Initial contact and needs analysis by the design office
- Technical proposals with materials, finishes and an estimate
- Sampling and client validation
- Series production, quality control and delivery
Typical total duration: 6 to 12 weeks depending on complexity.
What labels and certifications do you hold?
Baudchon is certified France Terre Textile (at least 75% of manufacturing steps carried out in France) and is authorised to apply the Made in France label to its products. We also work with recycled materials and certified natural fibres (cotton, wool, bamboo) on request. Details: our labels and commitments.
Do you guarantee the confidentiality of client projects?
Yes. We systematically sign non-disclosure agreements (NDA) for development projects, and apply an internal compartmentalisation policy for sensitive files (luxury, medical, defence).
Is the design office chargeable?
An initial discussion and the initial needs analysis are free. For in-depth technical studies (advanced prototyping, specific materials, standardised testing), a dedicated quote is drawn up according to the time and resources mobilised.
What is the difference between classic quilting and ultrasonic quilting?
Classic quilting joins the textile layers by stitching (needle and thread), with a rich decorative result suited to bedding. Ultrasonic quilting bonds the layers through ultrasonic vibration, without thread or needle: it is faster, more sealed and preferred for medical and hygiene applications where no perforation is tolerated. Our online comparator guides you between the two according to your specification.
Do you offer online tools to prepare my project?
Yes. Several free tools, with no commitment and no account creation, are available on the Tools page: the wadding selection guide, the process comparator (stitched / ultrasonic), the material needs calculator, printable specification templates, a foam cutting configurator and two orientation quizzes (component, sector). They help you frame your project before talking to our design office — and our assistant Camille can guide you along the way.
Do you cut foam to measure?
Yes. Alongside wadding and quilting, Baudchon cuts technical foam to specification, in any shape (rectangle, L, T, curved shapes, cylinder, or free shape from a pattern). Describe your part via the cutting configurator: reply from the design office within 48h, no commitment and no price published online.
